Beyond Words: effective ways to support miscarriage, stillbirth and Infant Loss survivors
Learning the importance of empathy, understanding and practical support in helping those affected by baby loss
Beyond Words is a workshop designed to equip healthcare professionals and support staff with deeper insight into the lived experience of miscarriage, stillbirth, and infant loss. This training is shaped by the voices of loss mothers, who share firsthand what was helpful and what was unintentionally hurtful during their care and grief journey.
The goal of this workshop is to strengthen compassionate care by offering practical, relationally grounded guidance that staff can immediately apply in patient interactions. It also enhances existing bereavement training and the work of support teams in providing more intentional, patient-centered care.
A compassionate, practical workshop equipping healthcare professionals to support families through Miscarriage, Stillbirth and infant loss.
WHY THIS MATTERS
It’s a moment that no healthcare provider forgets…the silence in the delivery room, or telling her that there’s no heartbeat. You’re the first person to know her baby won’t go home with her.
Medical professionals often find themselves supporting families through some of the most devastating moments of their lives, yet many feel unsure of what to say or how to best care for these patients with empathy. We acknowledge and understand the emotional weight this work carries for you as providers.
Many professionals want to offer meaningful support, but feel unsure how to do that well in such a complex space. Without guidance, even well-intentioned care can feel clinical, rushed, or unintentionally isolating. This workshop is designed to bridge that gap and help you offer care that feels both compassionate and grounded.
“This showed me how to show up even when I don’t have the “right” words to say…my presence means more than I even realized.”

You will not always have the perfect words. With the right tools and understanding, you can offer care that helps families feel seen, respected, and not alone.
WHAT MAKES THIS DIFFERENT
You’ll hear directly from loss moms who share their stories with honesty and vulnerability. Their voices offer a perspective that clinical training alone cannot provide.
They reflect on the care they received, sharing what helped, what hurt and what they needed most. Their voices shine a light on how medical teams can make a lasting impression during this deeply tender time. This workshop will help you to feel better equipped to meet patients with presence, respect and understanding.
WHO THIS IS FOR
